Hus divá je zúbkozobec z čeľade kačicovitých. Je sťahovavá.

Samec je väčší ako samica. Divé husi sa živia rastlinnou potravou a v jeseni sa rady pasu na oziminách. Sú monogamné, pričom páriky zostávajú spolu zvyčajne po cely život.
Hus znáša 4-6 veľkých bielych vajec, na ktorých sedí 28 dní. Húsatá vodia obaja rodičia. Husi uprednostňujú väčšie plochy pre svoje hniezdenie. Páči sa im hustá pôdna pokrývka z trstiny, vresu, kríkov a vŕbových húštin.
Vo svojom hlavnom repertoári majú viac ako tucet rôznych zvukov. Najznámejšie je ,,ga-ga-gaˇˇ, pretože tento hlas poznáme u domácich husí. Vydávajú tiché kňučavé zvuky, syčavé až po silné trúbivé hlasy ako striedavý duet dvoch jedincov.

The wild goose is a bird from the duck family.

The male is larger than the female. Wild geese feed on plant matter, and in autumn, they prefer to graze in preparation for winter. They are monogamous, with pairs usually staying together for life.
The female lays 4–6 large white eggs and incubates them for 28 days. Both parents take care of the goslings. Wild geese prefer large areas for nesting, favoring dense ground cover such as reeds, heather, bushes, and willow thickets.
They have a repertoire of over a dozen different vocalizations. The most well-known is the “ga-ga-ga” sound, familiar from domestic geese. Their calls range from low whining sounds and hissing to strong, trumpet-like notes, often performed as an alternating duet between two individuals.
