Seminar of forest pedagogues – Gallery

NLC – Institute of Forest Counseling and Education in Zvolen regularly organizes the Educational Program, which includes the Seminar of Forest Pedagogy.

In the period from September to November, the Seminar of Forest Pedagogy was also held in three gatherings, which was organized within the project entitled “Foresters for raising public environmental awareness” SK-HU FPREST SCHOOLS (SKHU / 1601 / 1.1 / 009) of cross-border cooperation Interreg VA Slovak Republic – Hungary. It was attended by 20 new applicants – foresters and foresters. The first gathering took place in the premises of a beautiful hunting manor in Palárikov from 10 September to 12 September 2019. The second gathering lasted from 1 October to 3 October 2019 in the building of OZ Levice. The end of the whole course was the third training camp in Turčianske Teplice in the Lesník Hotel on November 29 and 30, 2019. The program, which was compiled by lecturers from NLC, was professional and interesting. Lectures and practical demonstrations were given by experts from the NLC in Zvolen, Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, the Catholic University in Ružomberok and the University of Prešov in Prešov. They attractively introduced the course participants to the issues of forest pedagogy, general and special pedagogy, developmental psychology, environmental ethics and media communication. The program was enriched by a lecture by the head of the Forestry School of Forestry and Mattress Accommodation in Bernecebarát (Hungary), Pesek Bea, who introduced the seminar participants in an engaging way to the current situation of forest pedagogy in Hungary. The meeting with the Hungarian lecturer also served as an exchange of experiences between the two project partners.

Thanks to lecturers from NLC, future forest teachers were able to verify the acquired theoretical knowledge in the field in the form of various practical activities and games. They make it easier to get closer to different target groups. It was interesting to prepare a model Forest Walk, for which everyone was preparing together. It was practically carried out in the kindergarten in Levice.

The forest pedagogy seminar ended with a test, which tested the acquired knowledge of all participants and also with an individual presentation of the Forest Walk, which everyone completed with a specific target group.

On November 30, 2019, forest pedagogy was enriched by 20 successful newcomers who know how to use their head, hands and heart ☺.

The forest pedagogy seminar was held in a very good atmosphere, friendship, strengthening relations and mutual cooperation. After all, it shouldn’t be any other among the foresters.
