The Forest School offers:

The accessibility of individual programs is specified in the reservation system.

  • Sensory perception of nature, experiential games

A system of equipment and preparations for learning about individual components of nature, forest. Expanding information to basic knowledge, mediated by experiential learning.

  • Project teaching

Innovative knowledge of natural laws, holistic development of personality, support of presentation and communication skills, develop creative thinking

  • Discussion forums on current environmental topics

Multimedia set, for the screening of educational documentaries, open discussions with experts on the issue

  • Workshops

Working with natural materials, development of aesthetic perception, the possibility of using wood as a strategic raw material

Offered topics:

  • plants – getting to know medicinal plants, getting to know different types of plants, their occurrence, use
  • animals – getting to know different species of animals (fish, birds, mammals, game)
  • game – we get to know the game of our forests, their occurrence, way of life, food, food chains, traces of game
  • hunting – history, development, game recognition, division of weapons, hunting structures, hunting trophies
  • beekeeping – getting to know the life of bees, the year of the beekeeper, how honey is made
  • insects – useful, harmful protection of forest trees, demonstration of traps
  • mushrooms – recognition of mushrooms, their use, division into edible, inedible and poisonous
  • inanimate nature, geology, pedology, bioclimatology – getting to know inanimate nature, its parts, proving the importance of all its parts, soil types, importance, minerals
  • forest and trees – getting to know different types of coniferous and deciduous trees, division of forest – coniferous, deciduous, mixed, their distribution within Slovakia
  • cynology – getting to know different breeds of dogs, their use in practice
  • forester’s work – forester’s work in different seasons, forest trees, forester’s tools,
  • forest treasures – gifts from the forest – various fruits, their use, where to find them
  • falconry – history, development, knowledge of different species of predators
  • life of birds – getting to know different species, getting to know the way of life
  • small surveyor – map production, spatial / terrain orientation
  • small tourist – basic rules of behavior in the forest, learning about tourist signs, using a compass
  • fishing – life in the water, learning about different species of fish, the aquatic world
  • life in the field and meadows – learning about life in the meadows and fields, wildlife, insects, birds
  • life in the forest – learning about life in the forest, wildlife, plants, inanimate nature
  • sounds of the forest – a demonstration of the sounds of animals, a demonstration of the lure of animals, interesting facts about animals, the possibility of trying lures

Useful information:

  • pedagogical supervision during the program activities (the duration of the program) is ensured by the registered schools
  • During the program is made photo documentation and used for educational and promotional activities of the forest school (registered schools will ensure the acceptance for photo publishing from the child’s legal representative.)
  • the offered daily program is realized twice a day – morning/ afternoon
  • free dates for visitors are always added one month in advance
  • number of visitors is limited, at least 10 and maximum 25 people within programs (possible the other number of visitors after deal with forest school management )
  • the time duration of one lesson depends on the topic, activity and age of the visiting group
  • if required, it is possible to order a special program after the deal with the management of the forest school
  • possibility of self-teaching natural science subjects (learning based on experience) with the possibility of providing/ supplying teaching aids
  • possibility of education trainings, discussions, conferences… after the deal with FS (forest school)
